ODS Construction has been building on Eleuthera for 26 years. We build custom homes, renovate and extend existing ones, put in concrete pools, replace roofs and maintain properties for owners who aren't on the island year-round.
Building here is not the same as building on the mainland. Almost every material crosses water before it reaches your site, salt and storm season set the standard for how things get detailed, and there is no supply house down the road when something is short. We plan around that instead of discovering it halfway through a job.
We also self-perform most of what other contractors hand off — structure, plumbing, mechanical rough-in, tile and finish work — which is why our schedules hold and our sites stay tidy. The owner is on site, not on a call from somewhere else.
From a single bathroom to a house built from the ground up, we take the job from the first site walk to the final walkthrough. One contractor, one point of responsibility, and a written scope so you know exactly what you are paying for.
—Custom home construction, foundation to finish
—Whole-house renovations and interior remodels
—Additions, extensions and structural alterations
—Concrete swimming pools, decking and equipment
—Roof replacement, including standing seam metal
—Docks and waterfront structures
—Property management and maintenance for absentee owners

Custom Home Construction
We build new homes from clearing and foundation through to handover. Concrete and block structure detailed for hurricane exposure, mechanical and plumbing roughed in by our own crews, and interior finishes we install rather than subcontract. Every material is scheduled against its shipping window, so the site keeps moving instead of waiting on a barge.
Kitchens, bathrooms, great rooms and full-house refits, in occupied houses and empty ones. We survey and photograph the existing conditions before anything comes out, so surprises inside a wall become a documented change and a number — not an argument at the end of the job.
Adding a wing, a second storey, a guest cottage or a covered porch to a house that has to keep standing while we do it. Structural alterations tied back into the existing building properly, with the roofline, the finishes and the mechanical systems matched so the addition doesn't read as an addition.
Concrete pools built for island ground and island water — excavation, steel, shell, plumbing, equipment, coping, tile and deck. We size the pool and the equipment to the site and the household rather than to a catalogue, and we build the plant so it can actually be serviced when something needs attention.
For owners who are off-island most of the year: scheduled grounds and building maintenance, storm preparation and post-storm checks, contractor supervision, and a set of eyes on the property when you aren't here. Reported to you in writing, with photographs, on a fixed monthly fee.
Every ODS job runs the same five steps, whether it's a bathroom or a whole house. It exists so you always know what stage you're at, what it costs, and what happens next — and so nothing gets ordered, poured or closed up before it should be.
01
Site Visit & Scope
We walk the property with you, look at access, ground conditions, power and water, and talk through what you actually want out of the space. No charge, and no obligation to build.
02
Detailed Written Estimate
You get a line-item estimate organised by trade, separating materials from labour, with the landed cost of imported materials — freight, duty and VAT — already carried in the numbers. What you see is what the job costs, not a figure that grows once the containers land.
03
Procurement & Scheduling
We identify the long-lead items first — windows, doors, roofing, pool and mechanical equipment — and order them early through our South Florida suppliers, shipping into Eleuthera via King Ocean or TWINex. The build schedule is then sequenced around those arrivals rather than against them.
04
Construction
Our own crews self-perform the structural, mechanical, plumbing and finish work, under daily site supervision. You get regular progress photographs and a straight answer about where the job stands, whether you're on the island or not.
05
Handover & Follow-Up
We walk the finished work with you, close out the punch list, hand over the documentation and equipment manuals, and stay reachable afterwards. Most of our work comes from owners we've already built for.
From the first site walk to the last punch item, it's the same team on your job.
Eleuthera & the Out Islands
Where We Build
ODS Construction is based in Palmetto Point and works the length of Eleuthera — Governors Harbour, Windermere Island, Rock Sound, Tarpum Bay, Hatchet Bay, Gregory Town and Harbour Island.
Being based here matters more than it sounds. We know which sites take a truck and which take a barge, which stretches of road will cost you a day, how long a container really takes from Miami, and which suppliers actually deliver. That knowledge is the difference between a schedule you can plan a flight around and one that keeps slipping.
If it can be built on this island, we know what it takes to build it.
